What is #HealTogether

#HealTogether is a rapid-response emergency cash assistance fund launched for the express purpose of getting cash into the hands of eligible households negatively impacted by steps being taken to contain COVID-19.

Who is behind #HealTogether

#HealTogether is a partnership between Stand Together, Urban Specialists and OGU and the Family Independence Initiative.

What is your goal for the #HealTogether campaign?

Our immediate goal is to distribute a minimum of $10 million providing $500 to 20,000 eligible households. Eligible households experiencing financial hardship in their respective service areas due to:

  • Unpaid leave due to social isolation orders
  • Care of vulnerable or infected relatives
  • Loss of wages as a result of involuntary business closures
  • Unpaid leave of absence due to school or daycare closure

Nearly 40 percent of U.S. households do not have even $400 in a savings account to use in the event of an emergency, so each eligible household will receive a one-time payment of $500. That way, #HealTogether may reach as many impacted households as quickly as possible providing enough cash to make a difference.

The reduced stress and increased well-being of these recipients will have an indirect yet positive impact on their broader communities.

Families know best what they need most. That’s why we want to empower them with the flexibility to address whatever is their most urgent need – from paying electricity bills to stocking refrigerators to affording unexpected child care.

#HealTogether to Help Families Affected by COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is a national emergency. The loss of life is tragic, and the social and economic

fallout is creating immediate hardships. Already, nearly 1-in-5 Americans say they have experienced a job loss or reduced hours.

Amid all the trials, we’re seeing many signs of hope. In communities across the nation, people

are working together to help each other heal through these hard times. Bishop Omar Jahwar, Urban Specialists, Stand Together and the Family Independence Initiative is positioned to get direct, immediate assistance to those in need.
